Les Hirondelles will suit families wishing to enjoy the rural tranquility of the Normandy countryside. Set in 3 acres of cared for grassland, with many trees, there is ample space and privacy. The pleasure of a visit to the area lies in the lush meadows, orchards and forests. The area is synonymous with cheeses, creams, apple and pear brandies and ciders. There are forests, rivers and lakes for lazing in or for stretching the muscles, and everywhere there are classic half-timbered houses and farm buildings.
Calvados, and nearby Manche have many beautiful castles and abbeys, historic Bayeux is nearby and Caen, the main city of the area, is just a 45-minute drive away. The world heritage site of Mont St Michel with its causeway, famous island abbey and unique winding streets also makes a great day trip.
