This beautiful restored spacious farmhouse is situated in the heart of the Loire, just 4km from the lovely historic town of Montreuil Bellay with it's charming Chateux & river "Thouet". Situated in a very quiet farming hamelet the farmhouse offers spacious "home from home" comfort. There are two ensuite bedrooms with shower, wc & basin. The living room leads onto a terrace area with beautiful views of the open countryside. A selection of adult & childrens bikes are available for guests to use during their stay. A large enclosed garden offers children plenty of space & play equipment.
Le Vieux Logis is a 18th century farmhouse which has been lovingly restored to incorporate original features with modern day living . The farmhouse is situated just 4km from the beautiful historic town of Montreuil Bellay.
The farmhouse provides a very spacious & fully equipped self contained accomodation for upto 5 persons + a baby. The accomodation has it's own private terrace area for outside dining or simply relaxing and enjoying the lovely countryside. There is a large "play garden" with swings,badmington net, trampoline,table tennis, swing ball and plenty of space for our younger guests to run around. Facing the gite is an overground 1.2mtrs x 5mtrs splash pool to cool off in during our lovely hot summers.
Le Vieux Logis has been furnished throughout to a very high standard with a blend of modern and old furniture, with many of the original features, such as beamed ceilings, remains of a grain press and exposed stone walls from the "Tofu" stone of the region. All the equipment and home comforts are in place for guests to have that perfect well deserved holiday. The farmhouse is situated in a small hamlet with a mixture of farms and houses and we are surrounded by open fields and country lanes which can be explored by foot or cycle. Whilst offering a rural, tranquil & relaxing setting we are only 800 meters from a main road, leading to many of the major attractions that this part of the Loire has to offer, thus making it a perfect location for exploring & relaxing in this truly beautiful part of France.
In our nearest town Montreuil-Bellay there are two supermarkets, butchers, bakers, newsagentsents, banks, an open air swimming pool open in the Summer months, various activites to be enjoyed on the river 'Thouet'including canoeing, pedalos, fishing. There is aslo a selection of restaurants and bars.
The Loire is famous for it's wines and just minutes away from our doorstep are the "route de vignobles" - wine tours, which you can follow and stop in one of the many vineyards for a tour and sample some of the local produce.
We are set on the edge of the beautiful Loire Valley, less than 15 minutes away from the vibrant town of Saumur, the old town of Thouars with beautiful views from the via-duct and the picturesque town of Doue La Fontaine which is the boasts one of the worlds biggest rose collection along with it's annual rose festival and one of Europes leading zoo's. We are conveniently situated for our quests enjoy the majority of the major attractions that this part of the Loire has to offer.Weekend lets are available with the exclusion of July, August & September. Evening meals are available for the day of arrival or during your stay. Price for a three course meal, including wine, soft drinks and coffee is 15 Euros per person et 8 Euros for children -10 years. Evening meals can be taken with the proprieters or in the comfort of your own gite.
